I believe there is a foodie in all of us. No matter how strict we are about our diet, there is always one dish, no matter how sinful, which makes us forget about the calories and go on a binging spree. It could be your mom’s homemade dish or an item from your favorite restaurant. Even our billionaire folks take time out from their busy schedules to indulge in their culinary cravings either by opening their own establishments or dining at an already existing one. And Forbes has decided to reveal some of the favorite dishes and places frequented by these billionaires.
The list begins with billionaire Warren Buffet whose favorite place seems to be Piccolo Pete in Omaha. Rumor has it that his favorite items are hash browns and a root beer float. He loves the place so much; he even takes visiting student groups there for a meal.
The king of the Trump empire, Donald Trump, reportedly enjoys dining at Jean Georges in the Trump International Hotel & Tower in New York.
A confessed foodie, Oprah Winfrey loves the food at Sette Mezzo, an Italian eatery in New York which she apparently calls “a piece of Italy.” Another of her favorite dining spots in Table 52, a restaurant in Chicago opened by her former personal chef, Art Smith.
Virgin’s Richard Branson is the perfect example of a foodie who has set up a variety of restaurants, including the Kensington Roof Garden restaurant Babylon in London and the Ninety Acres restaurant at his new Natirar “culinary resort” in Somerset County New Jersey.
Russian Billionaires Roman Abramovich and Mikhail Prokhorov allegedly spend large amounts of money at Nello’s, a small Italian restaurant in New York.
India’s billionaire, Mukesh Ambani reportedly enjoys the South Indian cuisine at the Mysore Café in Mumbai.
Bill Gates and Paul Allen often get their burger fix at the drive-in and burger joint, Dick’s in Seattle. Gates reportedly dined at Tao Restaurant when passing through New York and commented on what good a deal their $24 lunch deal was.
Fashion designers Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani too have indulged in their culinary cravings by opening several restaurants across the globe.
It looks like our billionaires, too, can’t resist a bite from their favorite establishments now and then. To have a look at the entire list of billionaires and their favorite food joints click here.
