America’s favorite fashion retailer Barneys has roped in Aussie filmmaker Baz Luhrmann and his wife Catherine Martin to create a special holiday gift collection for them. In the past Barneys has collaborated with Jay-Z, Disney and even Lady Gaga over their holiday collections and this year the celebrated director and his costume designer spouse will lend their aesthetic to the project.
Titled “Baz Dazzled Holiday” the collection is full of stunning items such a Christmas decorations, home linen, specialty homeware and even a few stuffed animals! Each piece reflects the luxe and over-the-top extravagance that has characterized their movies. Here a few of our must-have items from the collection:
5. Handcrafted Champagne Saber ($785)
Already this unique item is becoming one of the popular pieces of the collection. Engraved with the words Truth, Beauty, Freedom, Love this cool knife is the perfect way to theatrically open up that Champagne bottle that you’ve been hoarding.
4. Elphresh Snow Globe ($275)
What’s a prettier way to capture a festive moment than a snowglobe? This one is filled with gold glitter and features a snowy Christmas tree and reindeer.
3. Handcrafted Crystal Tumblers ($325)
These shot glasses make a beautiful gift with their intricately designed bases. Though if we ever bought these we wouldn’t feel like giving them away!
2. Feather Backgammon Set ($6,995)
It’s definitely one of the pricier pieces from this collection, but with the feather detail is so unique and beautiful that we’re already reaching for our credit cards. The dark wood and realistic feathers transport us to a cabin in the woods!
1. Brass Engraved Flask ($265)
The collection actually features two hip flasks, but this brass one engraved with the words “A Life Lived In Fear Is A Life Half Lived” reminded us so much of the titular character from Baz’s 2013 epic drama The Great Gatsby, that we couldn’t resist including it.
The collection aids a great cause, with 25% of the sales benefitting Room to Read, a charity that supports literacy and gender equality in education in developing countries.
