After introducing the ingenious fragrance finder with Google, Guerlain is set to combine technology and subtle art of perfume-making yet again! The marquee recently launched a one-of-its-kind digital radio that attempts to connect perfume lovers and prove as an authentic community for fragrance connoisseurs across the globe.
Christened as ‘Olfaplay’, the digital forum invites perfume lovers to listen to, share and record audio stories about memories of scents. As per the marquee, everyone has an enduring scent-inspired memory that transports us across time and space. With the help of Olfaplay, Guerlain allows users to recount stories of these memories and record them in the form of personal 9-minute long podcasts on the app and web-based platform. The recordings can then be posted (and edited) with a simple click after they are approved by a moderator. To make the most of the experience, Connoisseurs are also able to sign their musings or keep them anonymous for others to listen to and enjoy.
Olfaplay also lets community members enjoy a trunk of pre-recorded stories about scents and fragrances from across the world. These include Guerlain Perfumer Thierry Wasser’s secret revelations about his smelling prowess, The Moulin Rouge’s musings about scents from backstage and costumes from its show as well as Chef François’s reflections about the mouthwatering aroma of his vanilla cakes. The Guerlain Olfaplay is currently available for free download (in French) on the App Store and Google Play.
