Helsinki Airport has made a commitment to show Chinese passengers that they are cared for through a stunt that’s pulled right out the Tom Hanks movie: The Terminal. Helsinki’s will become home to Chinese influencer Ryan Zhu for a whole month; he will live in a cabin and presumably eat, drink and shower on the airport premises.
Zhu’s unorthodox holiday is part of #LIFEINHEL a marketing campaign that is being touted as “an exciting experiment, a mix of reality TV, game shows and Social Media.” Zhu will be experiencing, testing and evaluating the airport throughout his stay and sharing details of his time there on social media.
“The entire airport personnel is waiting for Ryan Zhu’s arrival. We want to give him an unforgettable experience! The campaign’s feedback will be extremely valuable in making our services even better. We want our influencer to really feel at home at Helsinki Airport.”, said Katja Siberg, Finavia’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications. She also claimed that the airport is “the forerunner in serving Chinese customers.”
