The newest Louis Vuitton Travel Book “Floc’h Edinburgh” will see French artist Floc’h’s description on the Scottish capital. An unusual combination maybe but true to Louis Vuitton Travel Book style where a contemporary artist is put in an unfamiliar territory, resulting in beautifully drawn commentaries that are not so much guides as they are explorations.
Floc’h, whose illustrations have been featured in The New Yorker and well-known among Tintin fans, was born and raised in France and lived there for most of his life but is British in his dreams. His characters are laid-back, careless and disturbingly friendly with strangers as they easily stroll through every situation and landscape.
The plot of Floc’h Edinburgh is easy and unconstrained. There is much conversation that are long but riveting, tartans, Scottish history and seagulls! The book is out this month and available for $86 at all Louis Vuitton stores.
