Lucky Gorillas at the Chicago zoo will sleep on 250 thread count luxury bedsheets!

Turns out you don’t need to stay at the Hilton Chicago/Oakbrook Hills Resort & Conference Center to get a good night’s sleep on their ultra-soft sheets! Lucky gorillas at the Lincoln Park Zoo will now enjoy sweet dreams night after night on the 250 thread count sheets!

The luxury hotel usually donates their damaged or stained sheets to Homeless shelters nearby. But following a change of management from Marriott to Hilton, the staff was left with enough sheets and linen to furnish around 400 rooms and suites! Ed Bell, Housekeeping Director at the hotel, offered up the linen to homeless shelters and also as the local free zoo. Zoo officials claimed 100 sheets to use as nesting material for their western lowland gorillas. “It wasn’t tattered stuff,” said Bell, referring to the luxe sheets, “They got stuff that I could have put right back on the beds upstairs.”
“We’re committed to operating a sustainable business and supporting the greater good of the whole community,” said Nathan Karsten, Director of Sales and Marketing for the resort.
