After creating writing pieces in the memory of stalwarts such as Dalì, Gibran, Stradivari, Modigliani, Canova, Tchaikovsky and Tizia, Montegrappa is now set to honor the work of celebrated watchmaker- Bartolomeo Ferracina. It recently unveiled an exclusive pen in dedication to the artist, and much like every writing instrument ever created by the brand, it spells class, grandeur and perfection!
The Bartolomeo Ferracina as it is called, is a limited edition of 100 piston-filled fountain pens in three variations of celluloid: Malachite (green), Indian Rainbow (shades of beige), and Shiny Circles (variations of gray). It features a 16 mm quartz watch (driven by a Miyota Movement) with a white dial and silver-colored indexes on the cap crown, along with a complimenting sterling silver gripper. The in-built Pen- watch carries quite a weight and meets all of Montegrappa’s standards with a celluloid body, sterling trim, a classic piston filling system, and an 18-karat gold nib in a variety of sizes.
Commenting on the unveil, Montegrappa CEO Giuseppe Aquila said, ““As Italy’s oldest and premier pen manufacturer, I thought the best tribute to the genius of Bartolomeo would be a pen-watch.” The luxe offering is part of the brand’s Genio Creativo pen series, that has previously celebrated various great artists and thinkers. It is available on the online Montegrappa store and select outlets worldwide for a retail price of $2,300 each.
