Montegrappa’s newest pens will pay homage to the Apollo 11 moon landing and UAE’s space programme

In July 1969, the United States of America made history by launching the Apollo 11 into space with a vision to explore the lunar surface. The feat marked an incredible chapter in world history and is celebrated as a great achievement even today. In paying homage to the same, Monetgrappa’s has recently unveiled the very luxe ‘Moon Landing collection’ of limited-edition pens.

Restricted to only 53 pieces, the collection features pens in solid 18k gold and titanium to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the historic event. The ensemble also includes 473 pens in resin and sterling silver, each presented in a magnificent enclosure in the form of an Apollo 11 capsule in a special collector’s display case. Apart from the Moon Landing Collection, the marquee will also unveil a one-of-a-kind fountain pen dedicated to Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC).

The UAE edition will boast a design inspired by the ‘Saturn V’, along with a UAE flag and the letters ‘UAE’ inscribed on the barrel. It will also feature the logo of MBRSC on the cap along with a portrait of his Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emblazoned on the nib. While pieces from the Moon Landing Collection will be offered on sale, the exclusive MBRSC edition will only be displayed in the UAE throughout the month of July 2019, after which it will be presented to the space center for display.
