There are Ultraman fans, and then there are enthusiasts of this iconic character who don’t flinch spending a whopping 525,000 yen (approximately $5,533) on action figures! Behold the world’s most expensive Ultraman figure that recently showed up on sale in Japan. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Tsuburaya Productions, Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores and Parco has unveiled this 50cm called the “Ultraman Spacium Ray Premium Grade”. So what makes this one stand apart from the rest? Well, we figure it to be the real sapphire stone used in the color timer on the figure’s chest.
These Ultraman figures are hand-made and are extremely limited edition. With only 50 of these to be crafted for store-shelves, these figures are targeted to the older folk who will grow nostalgic on spotting this figurine swathed in luxury.
