Nike Creates Limited Edition ‘Don’t Tread’ Uniform for U.S. Soccer Send-Off Game

Nike will present the players of the U.S. Soccer Federation with a limited edition of Don’t Tread On Me uniform to mark the team’s final send-off match before leaving for Germany. Players from U.S. Soccer have never been presented with a one-time-only uniform to commemorate a special occasion such as this. This smart new kit will only be worn in the USA’s May 28 match against Latvia in East Hartford, Conn., as part of the team’s World Cup send-off celebration. The red jersey features the USA’s classic diagonal sash across the chest, reminiscent of the 1950 U.S. World Cup squad. The white-and-blue sash is offset by a 1950 era crest over the left chest. The right sleeve features the popular “Don’t Tread” snake logo. This uniform is made of Nike Dri -FIT Mesh and features a polo-style collar.

It will be far superior to the current white and navy kits. Every US supporter will want to see this kit more because it will be universally agreed that this is the best kit Nike has ever produced for the US. As the team’s biggest sponsor, Nike leans heavily on US Soccer and gets them to comply too.
Nike introduced the Don’t Tread On Me campaign in the fall of 2005. It was designed to give U.S. Soccer fans a unifying rally cry and a mark they could use to celebrate their team. This collector’s item promises to be one of the most popular U.S. jerseys ever produced. Limited-edition of U.S. Soccer history will be sold at a suggested retail of $70-$80.
