Residents of Paris’ Rue Crémieux neighbourhood are miffed with Instagram influencers and here’s why

Many millennials often discuss if Instagram is a bane or a boon. I’m perfectly certain that residents staying in the Parisian neighbourhood of Rue Crémieux or London’s Notting Hill neighbourhood consider it a bane; after all, the picturesque vicinities are now plagued with Instagrammers seeking a perfect picture.

Honestly speaking, I can understand why; the beautiful Rue Crémieux is absolutely stunning with its pastel pink, purple and blue colour palette. While the Louvre and Eiffel Tower are definitely high on my bucket list in Paris, the Rue Crémieux is brimming with cute cobbled streets and local cafes, making it uber popular with tourists now visiting the French city.

Interestingly, this recently popularised spot in Paris has been tagged in more than 30,000 posts on Instagram.
Of course, residents aren’t pleased with this rise in influencer visits. “We sit down to eat and just outside we have people taking photos—rappers who take two hours to film a video right beneath the window, or bachelorette parties who scream for an hour. Frankly, it’s exhausting,” one resident told radio station France Info.
