Rolls Royce and Aston Martin cars park themselves on Royal Mail stamps

Attention stamp collectors! There’s an entirely new set of collect-worthy stamps on the roll now. And I bet you’d crave to have atleast one among these. Raising a toast in honor of 10 revered British luxury automakers is Royal Mail, with a set of stamps that showcase vehicles from the good old 1960s and 70s when the automobile industry was at its peak. Dubbed as the “British Auto Legends” collection, the legendary car brands included are Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce, among other top automakers such as Jaguar Land Rover and Lotus.

The main agenda behind creating such a line of stamps was “to celebrate the best of British” says Philip Parker, Head of Stamp Strategy, Royal Mail, UK. Its after using great events and anniversaries as a springboard that Royal Mail unveiled the stamp issues. Aston Martin celebrating its centenary this year and Rolls-Royce commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of its co-founder Sir Henry Royce formed good elevations for the purpose. Determining the models to be showcased went through complex processes wherein lists and classic car magazines were referred as well as classic car expert and writer Richard Heseltine was consulted. Later, photographer James Mann was commissioned to capture the selected vehicles in its most pristine condition.
