Swarovski-studded penguin egg is laid for the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt

Luxury lovers and Fabergé egg collectors eagerly await the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, which will be launched in London on February 21. For this grand event which is touted to be the world’s biggest Easter egg hunt, Vanessa Chilton, a goldsmith at London’s famed Robinson Pelham jewelers (the designers of the diamond earrings worn by Kate Middleton on her wedding day) has created a giant Swarovski crystal-set egg inspired by an Emperor Penguin. This hand-crafted egg is set with Swarovski sparkling crystals representing the icy winter snow and the constellations in the night sky. The egg is one of 200 giant eggs that will be designed for this Easter event.

Other than Robinson Pelham, other big names designing eggs for this event include Chapman Brothers, Giles Deacon, Zandra Rhodes, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Sophie Dahl.
Each of the 200 eggs is handcrafted and available to buy through auction, with proceeds going to Action for Children and Elephant Family. This penguin egg from Robinson Pelham designed is one of 30 eggs chosen to be recreated in miniature and sold to Selfridges.
