Like a Boss: The Snoop Lion designed Airbnb suite for SXSW festival in Austin Texas

Rapper Snoop Dogg, reincarnated as Snoop Lion is taking reincarnations to a whole new level, that of vacation rentals. The ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ artist is now dropping some seriously slick designs on a pop-up pad. Created in collaboration with rental home royalty Airbnb, the ‘home’ will cater to the upcoming SXSW music, film and technology festival in Austin, Texas. Warning: the renderings you are about to see could be stylish.

Comprising two small rooms connected by a partially covered decked terrace, the Snoop-ed up pad also includes a lounging space in front of it. A closer look reveals signs of the classic Egg Chair by Danish modernist Arne Jacobsen. And while some may consider that minimal chic, bringing the Snoop back is a snazzy sign that reads “BO$$”.

So there! That’s all we’ve got on the Snoop-Airbnb jam so far. But also contributing to the festival’s temporary kitHAUS collection are indie duo Capital Cities and soul musician Allen Stone. While the former’s pavilion (seen above) makes it clear all the artists have similar sizes and layouts for their designs, the interior designs by the latter (seen below) seem as earthy, charming and soul-filling as one might expect.

“Musicians spend so much time on the road,” explains Amy Curtis-McIntyre, CMO for Airbnb. “We know they appreciate encountering great local experiences as well as the personal comforts of home when they are away from their own for so long.” All the homes were created along with designer and TV host Emily Henderson as part of The Airbnb Park. The park will also include public spaces such as dining areas and WiFi hot spots, and will be open from 11 to 15 March.
