The World’s Most Expensive Jeans

When I wake up in the mornin’ light, I pull on my jeans and I feel all right……Though I don’t care much about the pricing of my jeans, it’s the fit and comfort that matters! But Forbes has some interesting news on the most expensive jeans. Jeans, like anything else in a person’s wardrobe, have inevitably evolved to encompass any person’s desire, from the very basic to the completely elaborate. The popular worker’s denim trousers have become modern-day fashion and status symbols. Designer jeans come in and out of popularity but expensive jeans started coming back into fashion. With details such as custom fitting and gem embellishments becoming more and more popular, denim makers are asking–and getting–prices never seen before. In 2005, a pair of 115-year-old Levis similar to the Nevada jeans pictured was sold on eBay for $60,000 to a Japanese collector who paid what some spend on a luxury automobile. Escada’s Swarovski crystal-encrusted expensive jeans sell for $10,000 followed by the significantly newer Ernest Sewn custom jeans, which cost up to $1,000 per pair.

Worn by the likes of Brad Pitt and other A-listers, PRPS jeans ($450) are made of rare selvage denim that is hand-dyed with natural pigments. Other pairs this year included Levis iPod Jeans($257)and Denim for Immortality Jeans ($229), though the opportunity to make our own from Denim Design Lab($340) is also favored. Whichever way, I personally feel that the more you wear your jeans the better they turn out to be!
