UNO has collaborated with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami.

If you’re an Uno enthusiast, you may have heard of the brand’s famed Artiste Series. The colorful versions depict quality work at the hands of well-known mavericks, and this time around, the marquee has partnered with Japanese contemporary artist – Takashi Murakami for its fifth edition.

For the novel ‘Artiste’ edition, Murakami has applied his Superflat artwork and signature characters that completely transform the humble-looking deck of cards. The latest Uno edition can be stocked as a collectible or used for playing, as per the buyer’s preference.

It features beautiful illustrations by the artist in candy colors that give it a quirky look and feel. The deck further includes four double-sided ‘Artiste Extra’ cards that, when joined together, form two poster-sized artworks.

The UNO Artiste Series: Murakami will be available for purchase on the Mattel Creations site from Friday, August 5 at 9 am PT (12 pm ET) for a price of $22. Other editions in the ‘Artiste’ series that were previously introduced include the works of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Nina Chanel Abney, and Shepard Fairey.
