(Pet Lifestyle and You) and Wine Barrel Concepts have joined hands in an unlikely collaboration to create customized beds out of wine barrels. Yes, you heard right, dog beds from wine barrels!
Oak barrels that once held fine Californian red and white wines are recycled to create rustic, yet comfy beds for your favorite four legged friends. The barrels remain largely unadorned and still feature their original markings but they’re outfitted with a PLAY cushion bed, characterized by upholstery grade or hypoallergenic cotton coverings, stuffed with eco-friendly PlanetFill® polyfiber filler made from 100% post-consumer certified-safe recycled plastic bottles.
“A few years ago, I managed to handcraft two dog beds from an empty wine barrel,” said Christopher Ohms, Owner of Wine Barrel Concepts. “Although this was not a new concept at the time, I was able to provide a matchless quality that surpassed my competitors and strengthen my product by partnering with P.L.A.Y. (Pet Lifestyle and You). This bed became the genesis of Wine Barrel Concepts and from that experience I started to see common objects as having the potential to be uncommon.”
