Waggoner Estate Ranch is on the market for a princely sum of $725 million. This one stretches over 510,527 acres (800 square miles) – that is an area bigger than L.A. and New York combined and comes with plenty of history.
The Waggoner Ranch was established in 1849 and is the home of a famous Texas family that made a fortune in oil and livestock, known for its reverse-triple-D branded cattle – which is still used, making it one of the oldest brands in Texas.
Waggoner Ranch is a working one, with 20 cowboy camps scattered throughout the property to house the more than 120 workers. The ranch, with 30,000 acres of cropland, specializes in raising horses and cattle and has 6,800 head of cattle. Within the property sits three lakes -Lake Kemp, Lake Diversion and a smaller private lake — Santa Rosa Lake. Also part of the package is an old rodeo corral, a 1998 Masterpiece mobile home, art deco office building made from marble, a polo barn and apainting of the stallion Poco Bueno, an inductee into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame.
Oil and gas enthusiasts might also be interested to know that this property has more than 1,000 producing oil wells and the new buyer will also inherit roughly 42 percent of the entire mineral estate.
