Dubai Promenade with a Wheel-Shaped Hotel

To draw tourist traffic, Dubai seems to have gone out of control by erecting all the weird shaped structures that create ripples all over the world especially in the field of construction. Just recently property developer Nakheel, announced the Dubai Promenade, a sophisticated waterfront community that will create a virtual peninsula along the Dubai shoreline anchored by a five-star wheel-shaped hotel. Surrounded by the sea, a marina, and a natural beach, Dubai Promenade will offer panoramic views, idyllic walkways, and carefully considered architecture to create a distinctly different residential and commercial environment. And the most extraordinary wheel-shaped luxurious hotel will be an impressive landmark. Although not much is known about this wheeled structure, let me tell you a bit about the Dubai Promenade. Located between Dubai Marina and the seafront, it is adjacent to Dubai International Marine Club resulting in awesome views of The Palm Jumeirah. In addition to a selection of commercial and residential towers, cafes, restaurants, and retail offerings will span the length of the entire waterfront. Dubai Promenade will have its own marina with more than 60 berths.

Construction will begin in mid-2008 and on completion the development will accommodate approximately 10,000 residents in more than 2,000 residential units. Dubai, which attracts more tourists each year than any other Arab destination outside Egypt, plans to achieve economic growth of 11 per cent per year to 2015, partly by attracting tourists. The emirate also hopes to draw 15 million tourists a year by 2015!
