For sale a $55M private island in the Bahamas that has its own airport code

If you have always fantasized about having a candlelit dining on the beach, or a relaxing massage in a location off-limits to everyone and with your own sea views, private islands are the perfect hideaway options. A luxury real estate auction firm ‘Concierge Auctions’ has announced the auction of Innocence, the largest privately held island in Bahamas with a rare landing strip and it’s own airport code.

Originally offered for $55M, the island will be auctioned on May 15th at Trump SoHo New York. The property will sell to the highest bidder at or above a $10M reserve in cooperation with George Damianos of Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty.

One of the last unspoiled bastions in the magical Exuma chain of islands, Innocence is separated not only by space and time, but also by extraordinary natural beauty.
The Innocence island features residence, long stretches of pristine beaches, soft terraced hills and 681 acres of native fruit trees, tropical foliage.

The 3,000-square-foot main house, featuring six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms, is elevated atop one of the highest points on the island and delivers full panoramic views. A separate hillside bungalow with gym and meditation deck overlooking the bay is a favorite vantage point for guests wishing to take in the island’s nightly pink and golden sunsets.

The island’s airstrip is one of the only private runways in the Bahamas that is permitted with its own pilot code (MYEY) for individuals who enjoy travelling in comfort by private aircraft.

“The Exuma islands offer privacy, seclusion, and the most beautiful scenery the Bahamas has to offer. That’s why some of the world’s most renowned celebrities like Johnny Depp, Aga Khan, and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill own property here,” Damianos, owner of the top-producing luxury real estate brokerage in the Bahamas said in a release.

While there are very few people who can afford to own their own private island, there are relatively affordable renting options that you can consider while planning your next vacation.
