Manhattan’s Room with a View penthouse is up for grabs for just $70 million

Manhattan real estate can never be cheap, especially when you’re talking about a 6000 sq. ft. penthouse apartment with views of the Hudson and Manhattan Bridge. The penthouse in discussion is the Walker Tower condo that is currently in the market for $70 million. Last year, the same penthouse was bought by Neil Moffitt of the Hakkasan Group of restaurants and nightclubs for $50.9 million and is now on sale again with a probable profit of $20 million for Moffitt. This by far, has been one of the Big Apple’s most expensive listing. The Walker Tower building, situated at 212 W. 18th Street was first used as the offices for the New York Telephone Company before it was converted to condos and apartments. The building is quite known for its thick walls and the fact that Cameron Diaz reportedly has an investment property in the building!
The condo comes with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths, a powder room and outdoor terraces besides the salon and kitchen and occupies the whole of the 24th floor of the tower, which mean its owners can probably have scenic views of the great city from every angle including parts of Brooklyn and everything north of the Empire State building. Being up that high, towering over the bustling city has to be an ultimate calm; and that is what we would call a room with a view!
