It looks like an art gallery. Way too much art, and way too white. But, it is the largest luxury apartment in New York. No surprises to guess that it is based in Manhattan, New York, with sweeping 360-degree views of the city from its floor-length windows. The Private Residence 1 – covers a total area of 1680 sq metres, and was designed by well-known architecture firm Oda New York.
On entering the apartment there is a six-metre-high sculpture garden which features a water wall and reflecting pool, ‘overlooking the UN headquarters’. The interior is an example of modern-minimalistic appeal. It features a living room which is soaked in bright, natural lighting. The furniture is white, while the walls have spots of colour from the many paintings. The Italian kitchen is red and silver – like something you would find in a futuristic movie. The bathroom is a display of various patterns in earth colours, like rough black walls in the toilet and bronze tile pieces leveraging the bathtub. The wardrobe looks well-equipped, but Carrie Bradshaw had a bigger one (from Sex and the City). A game room features a pool table, with some strange art on the wall, but also with a sliding television screen. The bar is not too loud, looks like a counter at a city club. The apartment has its own cinema seating, with plush seats and a huge screen. The coziest room in the apartment is the reading room, which features wooden floorings and a leather swinging chair placed perfectly in front of the window with one of the world’s most enviable views. The room also has a life-size red Indian guarding it. Yea, even I was wondering about that one.
Prices are still unknown.
