TTR Sotheby’s International Realty sells 1714 Massachusetts Avenue NW for $12,000,000

Creating a record of sorts in this time of recession, TTR Sotheby’s International Realty of Washington DC announced that it had sold 1714 Massachusetts Avenue NW for $12,000,000! This sale has become the highest-priced residential sale in 2009 and the highest since the beginning of 2007. 1714 Massachusetts Avenue was built in 1890 and is situated in a prime area off of Dupont Circle close to Embassy Row. A home fit for a king, the first floor features grand public rooms perfect for large scale entertaining, including double formal parlors, an embassy sized dining room, and wood paneling that can accommodate gatherings of all sizes.

The second through fourth floors features the family living quarters, including the family kitchen, family living room, 5 plus bedrooms, and 5 full and 1 half bath. This sale has definitely raised the hopes of the real estate market, which has seen a massive decrease in prices over the last two years… Is this the end of the slump in the real estate market? We can only wait and watch.
