J.W. Marriott Marquis Dubai – Review

Soaring at 355 meters, the newly opened JW Marriott Marquis Dubai’s commandeering position on Sheikh Zayed Road also comes with the coveted title of ‘World’s Tallest Hotel’ from the Guinness Book of World Records. The 72-story hotel, which opened in February last year, is the first JW Marriott Marquis outside North America and the 59th in the brand’s global luxury portfolio. Marriott’s Marquis brand of properties sits in between the JW Marriott and the Ritz-Carlton in the company’s portfolio of luxury brands.

First Impressions
Its location is simply the property’s strongest USP, situated on Business Bay, Dubai’s business hub; the hotel has already earned the reputation as Dubai’s first world-class convention and business destination hotel. Walking in, guests are ushered into a lobby that complements its size. Five storeys tall, the lobby has a minimalist yet contemporary ambiance, and guests are welcomed by a center table that flaunts a variety of fresh white flowers, contrasting its dark wooden walls and complimenting its shiny marble flooring.

Check-in was quick and efficient at one of the many desks in the lobby, though as guests of the Club Level Executive Suite, we did have a choice of checking in from the Club Level floor.
