1962 Ferrari 330 TRI/LM Testa Rosa Spyder goes under the hammer as the most expensive Ferrari ever sold

Okay, so what’s the big deal one more Ferrari is sold? The deal is that it’s the most expensive Ferrari sold ever. We have got the news that a car or rather a Ferrari fanatic wouldn’t care about the world for. RM Auctions and Sotheby’s just concluded a historic auction at Ferrari headquarters that produced the greatest price ever paid for a Ferrari. It’s not an unknown fact that there are more than $50 million Ferraris that have been sold. But it is this 1962 Ferrari 330 TRI/LM Testa Rosa Spyder that has gone under the hammer for a record-setting price. It was won by some lucky as hell anonymous telephone bidder (lucky for 2 reasons; for being so filthy rich and secondly for owning the most expensive Ferrari). The actual bid was €6,250,000, but there’s apparently a 10% commission to be paid, as well hence it came to a total of a staggering €6,875,000 that comes up to something like $9,252,375.

Though a humongous amount of money, it still wasn’t enough o make the 1962 Ferrari 330 TRI/LM Testa Rosa Spyder the world’s most expensive auctioned car. That record’s held by a particular 1931 Bugatti Type 41 Royal Sports Coupe that was sold by Christie’s back in 1987 for $11 million). Talk about people’s love for vintage cars!
