A Lamborghini owner in Canada has sued the dealership after his white Huracan Spyder turned yellow

The Lamborghini Huracan painted in the Italian automaker’s traditional yellow might be the most popular pick amongst its buyers but the V10-powered supercar with a pristine white paint job looks jaw-droppingly good; you’ll know what I mean if you have seen one in flesh. A Canadian man by the name Calogero Caruso thought so, too, when he bought one for his son in July 2017 for the equivalent of a little more than $275,000 USD. However, he got the rudest shock of his life when his white 2017 Lamborghini Huracan Spyder started to turn yellow. CTV News reports that Caruso took a second mortgage on the family home to buy the Italian exotic and he said that it was his son’s “dream to own such a luxury vehicle.” “Instead, it has been a total nightmare,” Caruso explained.

On complaining about the Huracan losing its color to the dealership, the manager of the showroom assured the family that the supercar can look a little yellow in the sun. However, the white Huracan allegedly continued to get a yellower tinge even after being parked indoors. The dealership, Lamborghini Montreal, offered to have the Huracan repainted, however, Caruso refused the offer saying it will drastically reduce the supercar’s resale value. According to the lawsuit, the standoff between the Caruso family and the dealership lasted for months. While he returned the car to the dealership in August of 2018, Caruso has to continue paying the mortgage, insurance and registration costs. Caruso has sued Lamborghini Montreal for the cost of the Huracan plus damages, which comes to more than $300,000.
