With a successful run of the 2012 Audi A8L Exclusive Concept with a W12 which was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi has decided to bring back the uber-luxurious long-wheelbase exec saloon with the unusual engine. Audi unveiled the brand new A8L W12 Exclusive Concept which is based on the 2015 model. ‘Exclusive’ is Audi’s personalization service that provides its customers with custom upgrades such as special colors, unique interior trim details, and custom body and wheel enhancements.
The exterior of the car doesn’t look much different than the usual A8 long-wheelbase version, but it’s inside the cabin where the custom-tailoring effort is quite noticeable. The cabin comes wrapped in Premium aniline leather in Agatha cognac, which is sourced from Italian designer furniture-maker Poltrona Frau. The brown-colored leather is particularly soft and natural-looking, and the center section of the seats sport a diamond quilting pattern.
The center console and door-trim inlays feature natural wood with a fine grain olive ash finish, with the top of the dashboard covered in Nappa leather. The shade of the wood matches the granite gray piping, stitching, and central pleat of the seats, and the Alcantara headliner is white in color. As far as the engine goes, it will come with a 6.3-liter W12 unit that produces 500hp, good enough to propel the car from 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds. Just like the 2012 model, the 2015 A8l W12 Exclusive Concept will be built in a limited run of 50 units to add to its exclusivity, but it’ll be sold only in Europe. The pricing is yet to be confirmed by Audi, but it’ll hit the markets by March 2014.
