The legendary BMW E30 M3 first rolled onto streets back in 1986 and since then, the line has gone a long way in living with the times and setting benchmarks for the automobile world. To celebrate the third decade celebrate the Pearl Jubilee of the legendary car, BMW has given the newest M3 some major uplifts; albeit cosmetic ones, but they take us back to the classic M3.
The new M3, which is simply called the 30 Jahre M3 or 30 Years M3 will come in Frozen Silver. The coat brings with it the matte-magic of the original M3 for tangible nostalgia. The company claims that this could be the last Frozen Silver M3 ever, which makes it even more endearing. Also adding to the looks of the car are a number of 30 Jahre labels that proclaim the success of the car and its exclusivity. With seats made of Merino leather and carbon trim presence across the body of the car, this variant is quite different from the regular M3.
Adaptive headlamps, adaptive M suspension, a DCT box and impressive stereo system are things to look forward to from this edition. The car will ride on 20-inch alloys and receive a bump of 19bhp, taking it to 444bhp, thanks to the Competition Pack.
There will be 500 units in all with 30 arriving in the UK in the special silver. The rest will receive the legendary Macao Blue that graced the E30 M3. The Competition Pack brings several additional performance enhancements that outdo the production-level M3. The pack will cost about $11,000
