BMW i Remote is the first Car App to make it to the Apple Watches display

Making its debut as the very first Car-centric app for the newly launched Apple Watch, BMW’s i Remote App for the i3 electric car and i8 hybrid is what every Beemer owner could find very useful. While the app was featured for a bit during the launch of the Apple Watch and the app was also made available for Apple’s existing smartphones, it will now also be featured for the watch.

Just as you’d expect from the full-blown mobile app, the i Remote App for the i3 and i8 cars that’s now been designed for the watch, will also provide users with useful information and handling of the cars. Information like charging status, and functions like locking the doors, flashing the headlights, honking the horn, locating nearby charging stations, pre cooling or heating the vehicle etc. will all be available via the watch face app. And in case you were wondering, you can also track your vehicle on a map using the watch. Don’t expect to drive the car remotely… yet. But if what we saw at CES 2015 is any indication of where the app is heading, it’s only a matter of time before that too is incorporated.
