After two years Elvis Presley’s 1957 BMW 507 is restored to be fit for the king again

Many know Elvis Presley as the hip-gyrating, crooning demi-god that he was. However, the singer also served in Germany with the US Army, in 1958. It was then that he purchased a 1957 BMW 507, which was since handed down various owners until the maker themselves purchased it in 2014. The company completely took the car apart in an effort to refurbish it and restore it to its former glory.

There were only 254 examples of the 1957 BMW 507 created, which made them absolutely rare. A single restored car could fetch as much as $2.5 million in this day and age. The former racing machine today thrives as a classic and has been immortalized with a simple buying decision made by the King of rock and roll. The car was white in color back then but thanks to swooning female fans who preferred to leave him notes in red lipstick, Presley decided to paint the car red.

The restoration process was rather arduous as the car had to be taken apart completely, receive the original color shade on the body, a BMW 3.2-liter V8 engine installed, The images of the old rustic red variant and the swanky restored white one tell a story of their own.
