Ferrari wants you drive with the wind in your hair, and to make sure you do so, the Italian supercar manufacturer has pulled the veil of this extremely handsome stallion, the 488 Spider. Unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show, the 488 Spider is designed by the renowned Ferrari coachbuilder Scaglietti. Under the hood, the car packs a 3.9-liter turbocharged V8 engine that produces 660 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque; numbers that are similar to those produced by the 488 GTB Coupe. The 488 Spider is hooked on to the Ferrari F1 seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox and promises to touch the 62 miles per hour mark in well below three seconds!
Using a seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox, this car is supposedly 23% stiffer than the previous 458 Spider. The retractable hard-top roof of the car can be deployed in just 14 seconds, with the car travelling at speeds of 31 miles per hour. All in all, the new Ferrari 488 Spider is a well-rounded car, which offers performance, great looks and delivers tons of adrenaline rushes and excitement. While this may not be one of those cars you can drive around in every single day, the Ferrari 488 Spider does make for the perfect Sunday brunch drive.
