For a billionaire who loves cinema – A 80-meter yacht concept yacht that comes with retractable balconies and projects movies on the sails

Movies under the stars in an open courtyard are great. But elevating the cinematic experience to a whole new level is the Vela Yacht – an 80 m luxurious vessel that carries 1,850 square-meters of sails and comes with a giant screen for an outdoor cinema. The yacht is also affixed with a hybrid engine and state-of-the-art propulsion that causes the least amount of pollution.

Created by Italian designer Gianmarco Cardia, the 80-meter superyacht probably features the most impressive sail plan in a long time. Much like the 2006 Perini Navi Maltese Falcon, with its weight centered midships, the Vela also features sails mounted on two stately DynaRig masts. The vessel’s spacious outdoor areas are ideal for recreation with an outdoor cinema lounge on the sundeck, wherein guests can laze around on sunbeds the whole day and watch movies projected on the sails of the front mast. There’s also an additional cinema in the upper-deck lounge that is complimented with a sleek piano bar.

Other features on the Vela include – a gym, a spa zone, a beauty salon, two pools, a private conference room, and a wine cellar. The yacht can house up to 10 guests in four guest cabins and a master suite with fold-down balconies and an additional 16 crew members in the eight cabins perched on the lower deck. All said this could be the sail of a lifetime for cinema buffs!
