Fans of legendary racer Barry Sheene and all you motorcycling enthusiasts get ready to be bowled over by Icon Sheene, the world’s most expensive and powerful production motorcycle. Dubbed the “ultra bike,” this $160,000 bike made its debut at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed held between July 2 and 4. As its name suggests, the superbike developed by Andrew Morris pays tribute to the late Grand Prix motorcycle world champion. Five years in the making, this 250 hp turbocharged 1400cc superbike can achieve neck-breaking speeds of 200 mph. A limited-edition of just 52 superbikes (symbolic of the biker’s age at the time of his death and the number of cards in a deck) is a must-have for Every Sheene fan. Each bike is hand-built and will be hand-painted with a different card by Mike Fairholme, the artist who decorated Sheene’s helmets. The ultra bike boasts of hand-laid carbon fiber panels and features etched and engraved plaques and yokes, a hand-painted 1940s style pin-up girl, and an Alcantara racing seat Sheene ‘7’ logo.
What is more, each bike will be custom fitted to the customer’s requirements before delivery. A beauty, the Icon Sheene is truly a class apart.
