Since its creation in 1833, Jaeger-LeCoultre has strived to strike the right balance between growth and respect for the environment. It has been a driving economic force in Vallée de Joux, where it’s manufacturing office is located. Vallée de Joux is located at an altitude of over a 1000 meters and is surrounded by the largest forest stretches in Switzerland. To ensure continuous economic growth without compromising on nature, Jaeger-LeCoultre has decided to invest in electric vehicles. By doing so the company adds to a legacy that symbolizes that International success can be found in a natural environment. The company has previously set up public transport for it’s 1,200 employees and promoted car pooling since October 2007. By replacing one of it’s company cars with an electric car branded ‘Jaeger-LeCoultre’ it seeks to further decrease it’s environmental impact. The company is going to put this electric car to use for Manufacture’s corporate services as well as make it available several days a week for employees.
The Grande Maison of watch making is also devoting three parking places to employees’ electric cars, that will be equipped with an electric terminal for recharging the vehicle during the day. With this change Jaeger-LeCoultre is hoping to raise employee awareness about electric cars whilst facilitating the use of them. It is also worth knowing that Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre is powered by green electricity.
