Since its creation in 1833, Jaeger-LeCoultre has strived to strike the right balance between growth and respect for the environment. It has been a driving economic force in Vallée de Joux, where its manufacturing office is located. Vallée de Joux is located at an altitude of over 1000 meters and is surrounded by Switzerland’s largest forest stretches. To ensure continuous economic growth without compromising on nature, Jaeger-LeCoultre has decided to invest in electric vehicles. By doing so, the company adds to a legacy that symbolizes that International success can be found in a natural environment. The company has previously set up public transport for its 1,200 employees and promoted carpooling since October 2007. By replacing one of its company cars with an electric car branded ‘Jaeger-LeCoultre,’ it seeks to decrease its environmental impact further. The company will put this electric car to use for Manufacture’s corporate services and make it available several days a week for employees.
The Grande Maison of watchmaking is also devoting three parking places to employees’ electric cars equipped with an electric terminal for recharging the vehicle during the day. With this change, Jaeger-LeCoultre is hoping to raise employee awareness about electric cars whilst facilitating the use. It is also worth knowing that Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre is powered by green electricity.
