We live in a day and age when we would wince on hearing about a new Lamborghini that produces 571 horsepower and a torque of ‘just’ 398 lb-ft. However, the idea of a new bull that is driven purely on its rear wheels is something we wouldn’t see coming. Being a purist may have something to do with getting the whole deal in the flesh, but then again, does a power cut bite so deep?
The Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 however, maintains the same seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to map the performance of the rear wheel drive. There is a lack of manual transmission that may be a troubling fact for the purists. The car has been tuned to live up to the tail-handling that will follow. The dry weight of the car is also lower at 3,062 pounds, which is 73 pounds lighter than the four-wheel drive coupe. The company has also restyled the front and rear ends by adding 19-inch wheels. The car skids ahead on Pirelli PZero rubber and offers aluminum caliper grip steel rotors.
Performance wise, the car does impressively well. It can scale a mean 0 to 62mph in 3.4 seconds and touch top speeds of 199 mph. The RWD version of the Lamborghini Huracan will be making its first appearance at the LA Auto Show.
