The Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder was named “Best Sports Car” by Robb Report Magazine in its June issue. Earlier we have updated you about Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT captivating the prestigious Robb Report Best of the Best competition for the sedan. The Gallardo Spyder was named “Best Sports Car,” from a field of finalists that included the Ferrari F430 Challenge, the Spyker C8 Spyder and the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. This $195,000 Gallardo Spyder is virtually a practical solution for drivers who are in search of maximum style and performance. Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini quotes, “We are extremely pleased that the Gallardo Spyder has been selected for this respected and coveted award, especially over such a formidable group of competitors.”
The Gallardo Spyder features typical and unique mono-volume proportions, which integrate the Lamborghini design attributes of purism, athleticism and sharpness.
It also incorporates a number of important modifications to the original engine and transmission from the Coupe. The six-speed transmission has been recalibrated, along with the suspension and steering. Lamborghini says that the car will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 195 mph with the roof up.
