We’ve all been under the impression that a Lexus is the type of car a 50 year old man drives to a game of golf, right? Well, we’ve all been mistaken. To prove the point that its cars are anything but “boring” and to push up its game, Lexus has unveiled this jaw-dropping car named the LC 500. Designed to give the likes of the Jaguar F-Type and Mercedes-Benz SL a run for all they’re worth, the LC 500 was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The car will come with a 5.0-litre V8 and will produce 467bhp at 7,100rpm and 52.53kgm of torque at 4,800rpm, with the naturally-aspirated roar.
Sporting a 10-speed automatic gearbox, the car is expected to go from 0 to 100kph in less than 4.5 seconds. This is the first car to use Lexus’s new rear-wheel-drive platform, using high-strength steel and aluminum suspension components that reduce weight and increase rigidity. The LC 500 by Lexus is expected to hit store shelves spring 2017 and will come with a price tag of less than $100,000, making it an extremely attractive option for those looking for a luxury and sports coupe that can be ridden hard and fast.
