McLaren 720S MSO Apex Collection honors the brand’s rich racing history and famed European race tracks

Over the last several years, McLaren Automotive has expanded its product line-up at an unbelievable pace to become one of the biggest names in the supercar manufacturing space. And its success can be attributed to its rich racing history to some extent; in fact, McLaren is one of the most successful names in the F1 history with eight constructors’ titles, 12 drivers’ championships and over 160 grand prix victories to its name. To celebrate its racing legacy, McLaren has created a special edition 720S called the MSO Apex Collection. The name refers to apexes at five famous European grand prix circuits, the same ones McLaren has used over the years to test and develop its cars and enjoy racing success. The special edition is limited to just 15 examples and each car is identified with the highest speed achieved by a McLaren driver in a 720S over a particular apex.

The special edition only features aesthetic updates and a mechanically identical to the 720S Track Pack variant, which is 50 pounds lighter than the standard 720S and comes with carbon-fiber exterior trim, a sports exhaust, and the McLaren Telemetry System. In addition to that, the MSO Apex Collection gets carbon fiber side sills, extended shift paddles, MSO steering wheel with a dual-color Alcantara, MSO throttle pedal and key shell, and lots of MSO Apex logos and badges. The buyers of the special edition will also get VIP treatment with a Formula 1 paddock pass along with a chance to participate in the Pirelli Hot Laps experience. The McLaren 720S MSO Apex Collection will only be sold in Europe and the pricing starts at £288,813 (about $355,000).
