To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, Mercedes-Benz Japan has revealed limited edition of the CLA 180 that pays tribute to one of the greatest film franchises in the world. Limited to only 120 examples nationwide, the special edition CLA 180 will be available in two colors depicting the two sides of the force – 60 finished in Calcite White for the Stormtrooper fans and 60 painted in Night Black for those who like the dark side. Priced at 5,040,000 yen (which roughly converts to $44,960 USD), the special edition CLA 180 is mechanically same as the base model. What that means is it has the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine which produces 122 PS (120 horsepower) and 200 Nm (148 pound-feet) of torque.
However, the CLA 180 Star Wars Edition comes with a number of cosmetic changes along with the special paintjob that sets it apart from the base CLA 180.
The Calcite White CLA 180 comes fitted with 18-inch AMG 5-spoke-design wheelsOn the inside, the leather seats have white lines on the center along with white stitching that contrasts the black interiorsThe white stitching can also be found on the dashThe Knight Black CLA 180 comes with 18-inch multi-spoke AMG wheels finished in glossy black paintThe cabin is finished in black along with red stitching on the leather seatsThe seatbelts are also red in color depicting Darth Vader’s lightsaberIn addition to the red seatbelts, the flat-bottomed steering wheel also has red stitchingThe special edition CLA 180 will come equipped with Star Wars welcome light in the doorsThe Star Wars logo can also be found on the groovy special edition floor matsThe car also comes equipped with Mercedes branded dash cam that makes R2-D2 soundsIn addition to a long list of Star Wars goodies, there’s also a Star Wars sunshade that has picture of the Millennium Falcon’s cockpit with Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca, and Luke Skywalker on itOn the backside of the sunshade is printed the famous phrase: “MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU”
