Mercedes Benz World open to the public

Mercedes Benz maniacs can make merry. The Mercedes Benz world is opening its gates for one and all on the 20th of May 2006. The Minister-President of the State of Baden-Wurttemberg Gunther H. Oettinger and the Chairman of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler AG Dr. Dieter Zetsche opened Mercedes-Benz World today at a ceremony attended by numerous guests from different areas of politics, economics, and society. Mercedes-Benz World creates a link between an enthralling museum coupled with a state-of-the-art automotive center; it encompasses the history of the company which is 120 years old. From a rudimentary start to the pinnacle of success it has it all. Also from the first car to the most updated version you can find everything under one roof.

It is spread over a vast land area of about 53,000 square meters. The foundation stone for the new Mercedes-Benz Museum was laid on September 17, 2003, and the topping-out ceremony was held on March 3, 2005. The starting signal for the new Stuttgart Mercedes-Benz Center was given on September 7, 2004, followed by a topping-out ceremony on July 14, 2005. A museum of sorts this place is like a Mercedes Benz encyclopedia.
