While buying the latest LV arm candy or some exquisite tiffany jewelry at Selfridges may seem like a common affair, come November and the high-end departmental store will also sell you a limited edition Morgan EV3! That’s right folks! The luxury carmaker, Morgan (in collaboration with Selfridges) has built 19 luxe vehicles for exclusive sale at Selfridges’ flagship Oxford Street store in central London from the end of November.
These 1909 Edition cars come with an expected range of 120-150 miles – with a top speed of about 90mph in a luxurious black. As a past of exclusive retailing at Selfridges, the vehicles come customized with bronze detailing that is inspirationally stolen from the retailer’s distinctive bronze name plaque at the Oxford Street Store. Even for being a customized limited edition version of Morgan’s all-electric EV3 (which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor event earlier in the year), it retains most of the former’s features like the 20kW lithium battery and a liquid-cooled 46kW motor.
While only a replica of the EV3 will be displayed at the store’s revamped ground floor accessories hall, those craving a test drive will be presented with a running prototype. For buyers who wish to splurge further, the store will also offer custom EV3 accessories like a £2,995 trunk from British leathercraft specialist Globe-Trotter, driving goggles by eyewear-maker Linda Farrow, a classic wax belted jacket from Belstaff, and an Alexander McQueen scarf. With pre-orders flowing in, the Morgan – Selfridges association seems to have met some success already!
