This futuristic 211-ft superyacht will be partially powered by a giant kite

We’ve seen plenty of super-yachts, but not once have we encountered one that comes with a giant kite affixed on it. Well, here’s one that promises to fill us with awe while making it impossible for us to not ogle at it. We’re talking about this uber-luxe 211-ft superyacht that is not only fuel-efficient but also packed with everything that a cruise lover could ever wish for!

Titled, Project ICE, the project is a collaboration between Red Yacht Design and Dykstra Naval Architects. The cruiser features a low-resistance hull (which is designed to be efficient at all speeds up to 20 mph) and dagger-board along with a giant sail that measures 1,700 square feet and flies 600 feet above the superyacht.

In addition to the impressive technology, the superyacht boasts 5,100 square-feet of open-air spaces, including a sunbathing area, a pool and a huge lounge area, a dining area for 12, two full-size bars, a touch-and-go helipad at the bow, and a private sundeck with a barbecue and Jacuzzi at the flybridge deck. Inside, it accommodates four spacious guest cabins that can accommodate up to 10 people, a full-beam owner cabin fitted with his-and-her bathrooms and closets, an office, a lounge area, and a spa and two lounge areas that double as dining rooms.

Commenting on it, “We wanted her to look like she always came from the sea Fatih Sürekli, cofounder at Red Yacht Design said, “The main inspiration came from sharks and dolphins. We wanted the superstructure and bow to convey a feeling of majesty, with the aggressive look of a shark. Aft, the areas are more welcoming, with a friendly, dolphin-like feeling.” She further added, “We wanted her to look like she always came from the sea.” While Project ICE is still a prototype, we can’t wait for it to turn into a reality!
