Why the Mercedes AMG S65 Cabriolet is more than just a high-powered drop-top fit for a prince

Ask a person who loves cars and he’ll vouch for a Mercedes Benz. Ask a person who lives, dreams and breathes cars and he’ll be swear by a Mercedes Benz AMG. This is what separates people who simply love cars, and people who live to drive. The Mercedes Benz AMG S65 Cabriolet is one such car made for the latter. A soft-top sibling of the S65 AMG Coupe, this certainly is no run-of-the-mill Mercedes. The Germans have gone to great lengths to create a car that you can drive to a black tie event, and go completely berserk in when the need arises.

The 6.0-liter, 12-cylinder engine tucked beneath the hood of this well-dressed monster is capable of producing 630 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. All this brute force is sent to the rear wheels, with a seven-speed automatic transmission working its magic. For those who like a regular dose of gleam, Mercedes AMG has added enough chrome to make this S65 Cabriolet shimmer. That, along with a bunch of “V12 Biturbo” badges and the AMG’s favorite quad tailpipes sets the Cabriolet apart from everything else on the road. Nothing has been mentioned in regards to the pricing, but from what we know, the fixed-roof Mercedes-AMG S65 Coupe currently comes with a price-tag of $234,050 and above. We expect the AMG S65 Cabriolet to be priced somewhere along those figures.
