Apple enthusiasts – here some good news in the times of much gloom! While several brands are shutting shop in the pandemic, Apple seems to be doing the opposite. The marquee has recently opened a brand-new outlet at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands and it’s no ordinary one.
The rumours are indeed true! Apple Marina Bay Sands, the first Apple store in the world that floats on the water, is opening soon in Singapore.#AppleMarinaBaySands #Singapore #SingapoRediscovers #cityscape #architecture @Apple @marinabaysands @AP_Magazine @GettyImages pic.twitter.com/Awbgzo2qtO

Shaped like a dome, it is Apple’s first floating store in the world and frankly, we can’t get over it! Covered with glass panels that reflect Singapore’s cityscape during the day and light up like a lantern at night, the outlet replaces the previous shard-shaped Crystal Pavilion. The design allows natural sunlight into the store which can be accessed via a boardwalk running parallel to the Bay as well as an underwater tunnel that joins up with the mall.
Commenting on it, Apple in a teaser (on its website) said, “Apple Marina Bay Sands will be at the heart of creativity, a place we’ve made for you to capture your ideas and passions. It will be a space for you to explore, connect, and create something new. We can’t wait to see where your imagination takes you.” The floating store is the brand’s third in Singapore following the Orchard Road outlet and the Apple Jewel at Changi Airport.
