A 500-foot Skyvue Las Vegas Super Wheel worth $100 million to come up soon

I love riding the Ferris wheel, more so if I have my beloved camera along! However, gambling doesn’t make it that high to my list of favorite things. And if you have been avoiding that Vegas tour just because of your aversion to gambling, there is soon going to be something in it for you too! Developer Howard Bulloch of Compass Investments is all set to put up a “500-foot viewing wheel on the Las Vegas Strip” to give visitors an incomparable view of Sin City. Tagged as the Skyvue Las Vegas Super Wheel, the joy ride with 40 gondolas will set to roll in 2013 and will be a part of the “$100 million privately funded project” that will also feature a roller coaster alongside 200,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space. The wheel will give stiff competition to other such projects like the London’ eye, the Singapore Flyer, the Odaiba Ferris wheel, Tokyo and the Great Wheel of China.

“Skyvue Las Vegas will complement both the hospitality and entertainment industries,” Bulloch said in a statement. “This world-class attraction fills a niche in our economic recovery, creating jobs and offering a new and unique entertainment offering for the tourist base.” The 40 gondolas can each carry 25 passengers at one go and can also be rented for private parties catering and drinks.
