Luxury train rides can be found all over the world, right from India, Russian, UK, Japan, Vegas, even China has it going. But a trip from China to Tibet has to be special in its own way, more so when china has planned to invest 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) in Tibet’s tourism infrastructure. A new luxury train that will run from the Chinese capital Beijing to the Tibetan capital Lhasa, will commence operations this year. The travel time is estimated to last a week and the train will seat just 108 passengers per trip.

Thus the ticket prices will cross over $10,000 if reports in the Tibet Daily are to be believed. The train will feature rooms and luxuries of varied stands, which is said to include onboard baths and meeting areas. With the vacation season due to commence in April, tickets reservations would be required. The season will also see an increase in air connectivity to Lhasa, as Tibet Airlines is in the process of planning test flights.
