Abu Dhabi to unveil world’s largest caviar farm


We know the prominence of caviar in the world of luxury and class and we also know the opulent traits that Abu Dhabi has always displayed. Here is another piece of news to chew on, the emirate’s decision to soon unveil the world’s largest caviar farm. The country has already received two dozen live sturgeon flown in from Frankfurt at the new 60,000 sq mt facility that is expected to produce 32 tons of caviar a year. The plant, a joint partnership between Bin Salem Holding and German company United Food Technologies, is expected to be complete by the end of this year.

This, however, comes with fears of 85 percent of sturgeon, one of the oldest families of fishes in existence, at a high risk of extinction. This will be one very precious fare to savor – wonder how one will have the heart to swallow the delicacy after all this news.
