Confectionery maestro Norman Love adds a touch of chocolate flair to Princess Cruises with a new collaboration titled Chocolate Journeys

Princess Cruises is offering its guests a decadent new range of experiences through their collaboration with master chocolatier Norman Love. Love, who creates and distributes handcrafted artisanal chocolates through his company, has appeared on “Baking with Julia” alongside Julia Child and has been lauded numerous times by popular magazines for his premium chocolate. His partnership with Princess, titled, “Chocolate Journeys” promises to be decadent and a true indulgence for lovers of chocolate.

Expect a wide range of experiences on offer beginning with a menu of 15 chocolate desserts designed exclusively by Love, featuring chocolate tart with vanilla mousse; chocolate pistachio dome with almond and pistachio nougatine and a chocolate tiramisu with mascarpone cream and espresso gelato to be served in the ships’ main dining rooms and specialty restaurants. This is followed by delicate pairings of wine and Love’s Black Single Origin dark chocolates at Princess’ wine bar, Vines. The captain’s welcome receptions will feature Love’s “chocolate love pop” truffles while his petits fours will be served at the formal night dinners. For the ships’ lounges and bars, Love has created a number of chocolate drinks including a Chocolate Salted Caramel Hard Shake, Chocolate Bacon Bourbon Bliss or a Chocolate Chile Margarita. Additionally, Princess pastry chefs will perform informative demonstrations, providing guests with valuable tips for creating their own chocolate masterpieces back home.

And for those looking for a little pampering for themselves the ship’s Lotus spa will offer a delicious and decadent Chocolate Indulgence Body Treatment that combines a chocolate renewal scrub, whipped chocolate body mask and chocolate massage oil.

Princess Cruises’ Chocolate Journeys are a product of a survey that as many as 58 per cent of women would choose chocolate over sex while 69 per cent of respondents said they had frequent chocolate cravings. Another 81 per cent admitted that chocolate improves their mood while 84 per cent said they would like to receive chocolate as a gift. We do not need a survey to tell us that a wonderful cruise topped with a number of chocolate-rich indulgences is certainly something that we’d like to receive as a gift!

Chocolate Journeys will debut this fall on the brand new Regal Princess ship on her first venture into the Caribbean while the rest of the fleet will get its chocolate topping only in 2015.
