Emirates bags the title for the ‘World’s Safest Airline’ amid COVID-19


Worried about traveling during the pandemic? With Emirates, you needn’t. The Dubai Based airlines has recently been termed as the safest across the globe by Safe Travel Barometer, which screens Covid-19 health and safety protocols and traveler experiences on airlines around the world.

Emirates ranked with a ‘Safe Travel Score’ of 4.4 out of 5.0 among 230+ airlines evaluated worldwide. The digits were based on an independent audit of 26 health and safety parameters around safety protocols, traveler convenience, and service excellence provided by the airlines.

Noteworthy measures taken by Emirates included the distribution of complimentary hygiene kits, protective barriers at check-in desks and immigration counters, protective equipment and new safety rules for cabin crew and airport employees, novel aircraft cleaning procedures including the cleaning and disinfecting of aircraft urinals every 45 minutes during flights, and more.

In addition to Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Vistara, Air France, Delta Air Lines, Air China, Lufthansa, and Iberia made it to the top ten, in that order. Ranking second, Etihad Airways won points for its Covid-19 travel insurance coverage and its compulsory coronavirus testing. Delta Air Lines was also lauded for its policy to keep middle seats empty during flights.
Well, traveling in the times of coronavirus ain’t that dreadful after all!
