Ryanair may be best known for being a low cost carrier, but the airline appears to be expanding their customer base by launching a private jet charter service. The airline is all set to offer a customized Boeing 737-700 to clients looking to travel in style.
The plane will be fitted with 60 reclining business class seats and will offer passengers fine dining options, a far cry from the Irish airline’s usual offerings. Ryanair’s Head of Communications Robin Kiely revealed that the launch has created considerable interest saying, “We were inundated with requests not just from corporate bookers and finance companies, but also had a number of wedding enquiries too.”
Kiely didn’t reveal the cost of chartering the plane, but apparently the rates will be “competitive.” He also added that while the plane’s home base will be Dublin Airport, it can quickly be transferred to any of the 200 airports in Europe that Ryanair flies to. “Europe is pretty much your oyster,” he said. The plane will be available for six hour journeys.
